The delusion of sin is difficult to overestimate. It seems there is no limit to the amount of  disgusting, ungodly behavior that is justified by the wicked. Just as the New Testament believers were warned continually about succumbing to temptation, the message needs to be repeated incessantly, to our generation also.

Two newsworthy items caught my attention this week, both dealing with the hellish activity of elective abortion. Anyone who believes that the infant in the womb is just "tissue" or a "fetus" has a seriously morally skewed perspective. I hold that a Christian cannot be in favor of "Choice," but that if they wish to be even remotely Biblical in their faith they must be anti-Abortion. I observe that the vast majority, likely higher than 90% of Christians who are in favor of abortion as contraception for a pregnant woman know virtually nothing of the Bible; they have cultural faith, secularized faith, not Biblical faith. No one who is concerned about living according to the Bible can hold the position that abortion is an option for the Christian. It seems most are far more concerned about what society or significant others think than what God thinks, whether it is regarding sexual activity or carrying a child in the womb.

The first newsworthy item concerns the appearance of the "emergency contraception," (I find that phrase disgusting, as though pregnancy is some sort of "emergency" which must be dealt with, like a disease). The only emergency we have is that of a morally bankrupt culture, which sees wisdom like chastity and guarding one's virginity as problems, and sexual indulgence and illicit behavior as some sort of advantage! Sick is the proper descriptor of this kind of warped thinking!

It seems that Plan B, the "day after" contraceptive - read abortion inducing pill - will be offered on college campuses. It is legal to buy even without a prescription for those under 17 years old! Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania has already installed a vending machine with the Plan B abortiant after a survey of the students found that 85% of the students wanted it available. DOH! I'll bet they do want it available, as a nice fat reward for sexual indecency! What a lovely way to supposedly erase their depravity!

This is the same insane logic as legalizing drugs or prostitution. A person can also tell when a Christian's faith means little to nothing when the criterion for acceptance of an activity is whether it "is legal," rather than whether it pleases God. As I share these factoids summarized from the Foxnews.com article "FDA Allows Plan B In College Campus Vending Machine," one last statistic is telling; 49% of all pregnancies in America are unintended! Given that singles now are a larger proportion of the population in America than marrieds, this means there is a huge amount of immoral and irresponsible behavior - a plague of it, and colleges are among the worst places where illicit sex is taking place.

Meanwhile, in Texas, according to nbcnews.com's article, "Pregnant Teen Files Suit Against Parents in Abortion Feud," we learn that a judge issued a temporary restraining order to, "...to stop them from physically forcing her to have an abortion." Now, here are some interesting thoughts about this incident... The girl in question is 16 years old. If this were Africa or India that girl very likely might be quite mature, as women are culturally advanced by that age compared to the unbelievably poor maturation process at work in the United States! American teens as a whole are fantastically immature! Frankly, the culture of America retards the moral and intellectual development of teens.

My guess is that this girl is nowhere near ready to be a mother, and given the article doesn't even mention the man/boy involved in her pregnancy it would be a strong assumption she is not married. The question could be asked, since at the time of the court document the girl was nine weeks pregnant, and the man's name does not surface in the discussion, is he even in the picture any longer?

How would you like to have a war in a family over killing the grandchild? Imagine your parents wanting your baby dead! Oh, excuse me, should it be called a "fetus" for convenience sake for those who want to dismiss sexual sin, or do not want the responsibility of dealing with the sexual sin of someone they are related to?

I have conducted "hurry up" weddings for couples who slipped up morally, who were in love and faltered in their resistance to fornication. Usually it is a pregnancy which forces the question of, "Do we get married?" Most do not, because for them it is not important enough to repent of sin and to honor God by getting married.

The truth is it's not surprising there is so much sexual promiscuity happening in America, as this culture breeds it. Indecency is idolized here. The sad reality is that countless people suffer fallout, from the babies which are butchered so that horny losers can have sex when they want, to the harrassed teens who might be abandoned by their one night flings or ghost lovers (when you look for them, they can't be found), not to mention the myriads of grandparents who end up raising their children's children.

It's a real mess. But there is still one perfect solution, abstenance, which is the godly choice, and which almost no one talks about anymore. The Baby Boomers wanted desperately to be counter-culture, and practiced free sex. If a person wants to be counter-culture now, they should be a virgin. Many are the woes of those who throw away their chastity, but many are the blessings of those who guard it for dear life, keeping it for marriage!

Contemplate these words from the Bible, and consider how much "taking advantage," of others is happening in the world today sexually:

"It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.  (I Thessalonians 4:3-8).

One last thought; it's only too late to repent when you are dead. If this message has stung, has pricked your conscience, then do something about it by recommitting yourself to godliness and purity! You don't just live the believer's life for today, but also for tomorrow when temptations come, so that you can resist and live in blessedness rather than the consequences of immorallity!
