2006 is an exciting year for The Word Today Radio Ministry! It marks the completion of construction of our international headquarters, which is located on the property of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Greendale, Wisconsin.

The Word Today is 27 years old and has grown from one station to more than 150 stations across the United States. In addition, it is aired in India, China, Russia and Africa in 13 dialects.

This new building will be called the "Fish Building" because it will be identified by a large ichthus-the Christian symbol of the fish. This ancient symbol was used by early Christians to identify themselves as believers in Jesus Christ. They took each letter of the Greek word for fish (ichthus), and turned them into a pneumonic device meaning "Jesus Christ God's Son Savior". A huge ichthus (fish) will adorn the west wall of the building facing toward the heavily traveled 76th street.

The atrium of the new building will house a large globe representing the Great Commission, the command of Jesus to take the Gospel to the ends of the world (Matthew 28: 18-20). Flags representing every country where The Word Today is aired will be displayed.

The new building will have several classrooms, a recording studio and a theological library along with computer nooks where individuals may study the Word of God. The library will be divided into three sections-learning the Word, defending the Word and preaching the Word.

Groundbreaking was held on September 11, 2005 - yet one more way in which we can replace memories of evil and terrorism with memories of joy and Godliness. The building is expected to be completed in May of 2006 and dedicated on May 21st in time for the 28th anniversary of The Word Today.
