What you believe will either bless you or destroy you.

My son Luke just returned from a band tour of the South, including the city of New Orleans. Along the way he picked up a souvenier for me, a "Gris Gris," a Voodoo "good luck" charm, which visitors can acquire on their tours of the city. It's a bag or pouch which originally was used by Muslims in Africa and made its way to North America with the slave trade. The junky handout version Luke obtained for me is filled with rice, a penny, beans and a Bay leaf. The card attached reads, "A penny so you will never be poor, Red beans so you will never be hungry, Rice to connect you to mother earth, Bay Leaf to spice up you lire and enhance your attributes and strengths."

Anyone who believes such things is a dupe. Luke brought it home for me as an item to put in my collection of religious oddities. My family and my home congregation know that I abhor the concept of luck. I can hardly think of a more foolish notion to believe in, and I adjure Christians to have nothing to do with such foolishness!

The world is permeated with nonsense about luck and "fortune," etc. Even science has been deluded for decades with the stupidity of a conceptual framework of randomness and luck in the theory of Darwinian Evolution. There is hardly a more effective way to trash one's life than to hand over belief to fate, Karma or the like. Millions are living in darkness spiritually for having accepted the notion that they are nothing more than an accident of Evolution.

What you believe will have far reaching consequences in your life, and everyone believes. We either believe in the true God who made the universe and us, or we misplace our belief in someone or something else.

I have found that the only logically consistent and satisfying believe is in the Creator of the Bible and our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. I find personal fulfillment and power for daily living in the knowledge that Jesus Christ carried the guilt of my sins to the cross, where he left them, and rose again from the dead to bring me the gift of life everlasting. Such a belief leads us on a true path through a very crooked world!

The Christian has lasting Joy, because they know they have the promise of Heaven, eternal life with God! I encourage you, especially since it is Easter time, to find a Christian church and reconnect with Jesus! You will be amazed at how you will be given wisdom from God to counter all the World's foolishness when you become a student of the Bible and develop a friendship with Christ. I encourage you to start reading in the book of John in the Bible. You will quickly see that Jesus was no ordinary man, and that by putting your faith in him you can have a blessed life

A Joyous Easter to you!
